Country Sensation Gretchen Wilson Delighted Fns in Frederick

Frederick, MD--

Okay, we will admit we have covered a lot of music, but we have really missed out on some of the big acts on the country scene, but after an overwhelming amount of emails from our readers, we too had to break out the boots and straw hats for a night of country with Gretchen Wilson at the Great Frederick Fair.

For those who have followed the country music scene, Wilson came from out of nowhere in 2004 and set Nashville on fire with her single “Redneck Woman” which now is the anthem of all badass females and rednecks alike.

Even the fans of Southern Rock can enjoy a Wilson concert and respect that she now is a headline act that fills all kinds of venues from outdoor concert arenas to small intimate shows like the one at the Frederick Fairgrounds.  Her exit from an Airstream trailer on stage certainly keeps strong to her roots and when she hits the stage, fans are standing waiting to see one of the most talented female country acts in a long time.

While she will get you “All Jacked Up” and possibly get you “Here for the Party” she just makes music fun. Whether you want to kick back in a hammock and relax or just get hammered pounding a case of Beast Lite, Wilson’s music is a twist that all can enjoy.

Wilson loves to mix up the pace in her shows, following with the mid-tempo "Homewrecker," the honky tonker, "When It Rains" and the ballad "When I Think About Cheatin'. Lookin’ at Wilson, I am pretty sure that there were some in the crowd that would think hard about cheatin’ with her.

We knew we were in the right place when Wilson asked the crowd, "Do we have any rednecks in the audience?" The crowd erupted at the intro to "Redneck Woman," and of course gave our "Hell Yeahs" at the right parts. She had put the crowd in the palm of her hand. The fans, some of who drove from West Virginia and Pennsylvania knew what they came for, a girl who loves music and her fans.

Wilson closes the show with a short encore with a song titled “Here For The Party." A by golly, a party it was.
